MIBC-Nature

Colorless and stable liquid. It is miscible with most common organic solvents and slightly soluble in water. Melting point -90°C. The boiling point is 132°C. The relative density is 0.8083. The flash point is 40.6°C. Refractive index 1. 4112. The vapor pressure (20°C) is 0.373kPa. The viscosity is 5.2mPa -s. It solidifies into a glass body below -90°C. Vapor and air form an explosive mixture with an explosion limit of 1% to 5.5%. poisonous.

MIBC-Manufacturing Method

It is made from methyl isobutyl (methyl) ketone through nickel catalytic hydrogenation, and fractionated through a rectifying tower to obtain the finished product.

MIBC-usage

Used as a solvent for dyes, petroleum, rubber, resin, paraffin, nitrocellulose and ethyl cellulose. Used as raw material for organic synthesis, mineral floating lotion and brake fluid, etc.

• Toxic. Rat oral LD502.6g/kg, steam has irritant effect on skin and mucous membrane, long-term contact can cause headache and other symptoms. When inhaling vapor, move to fresh air immediately. After skin contact, rinse with plenty of water. The maximum allowable concentration in the air is 100mg/m3. Operators should wear protective gear.
